What's Happening with the PTA 2023-2024

The UPE Parent/Teacher Association is an integral part of the school. Parents assist in setting a direction for our school, provide school-wide and individual classroom support and periodically sponsor activities at the school.

The PTA meetings are a time for you, the parents, guardian, family, support system and all the teachers to come together and discuss the school's successes and opportunities. We encourage every one of you to become a part of the PTA and the activities.

What is the Parent Teacher Association?

PTA is dedicated to promoting children's health, well-being, and educational success through strong parent, family and community involvement. Together we are a powerful voice for children and teachers. With your help, we can continue to work towards PTA's goal of a quality education and nurturing environment for every child and make their potential a reality! Membership is open to anyone: Parents, Grandparents, Legal Guardians, Aunt's & Uncles, Sister & Brothers; extended family members; etc.. PTA values and seek input from all viewpoints, experiences and cultures. We invite you to join the UPE PTA!

Membership dues are only $5.00 per person.

I would like to dispel the myth that PTA takes hours per week or month. The PTA hosts and sponsors events throughout the year that are held during the school day and evenings. The PTA Volunteer Coordinator will call and ask if you can serve food, set up or clean up, work the book fair, cut flyers, count box tops, hand out freezer pops; etc. Any volunteer time given to UPE is appreciated. You are not expected to attend every event. Having your child see you volunteering at the school brings a smile to their face and gives a sense of school pride.

If unable to volunteer time you may ask your child's teacher for other ways you may help out, possibly cut papers, decorate classroom, cork board, help in the classroom, donate supplies, etc. Investing in your child's school is an investment in your child's future!
