What's Happening with the PTA 2019-2020
The
UPE Parent/Teacher Association is an integral part of the school.
Parents assist in setting a direction for our school, provide
school-wide and individual classroom support and periodically sponsor
activities at the school.
The PTA meetings are a time for parents
and teachers to come together and discuss the school's successes and
opportunities. We encourage every parent to become a part of the PTA and
the activities.

What is the Parent Teacher Association?
PTA
is dedicated to promoting children's health, well-being, and
educational success through strong parent, family and community
involvement. Together we are a powerful voice for children and teachers.
With your help, we can continue to work towards PTA's goal of a quality
education and nurturing environment for every child and make their
potential a reality! Membership is open to anyone: Parents,
Grandparents, Legal Guardians, Aunt's & Uncles, Sister &
Brothers; extended family members; etc.. PTA values and seek input from
all viewpoints, experiences and cultures. We invite you to join the UPE
PTA!
Membership dues are only $5.00 per person.
I
would like to dispel the myth that PTA takes hours per week or month.
The PTA hosts and sponsors events throughout the year that are held
during the school day and evenings. The PTA Volunteer Coordinator will
call and ask if you can serve food, set up or clean up, work book fair,
cut flyers, count box tops, hand out freezer pops; etc. Any amount of
time given to UPE is appreciated. You are not expected to assist at
every event. Having your child see you volunteering at the school brings
a smile to their face and gives a sense of school pride.
Ask
your child's teacher if you an cut papers, decorate classroom cork
board, help in the classroom, donate supplies if you can not donate
time. Investing in your child's school is an investment in your child's
future!
